I make dances that pull from my Southern upbringing, my experiences traveling around the world, and my cross-disciplinary training to investigate psychology, the American South, culture, and societal issues.
I dwell in the richness of the undefined; the moments in life and art that transcend labels to speak through imagery, gesture, humor, and surprise. Drawing on contemporary dance, theater and media, I create work for traditional performance spaces as well as installations and videos. My work in public spaces and created environments reflects my belief in the power of place and meaningful audience and community involvement in performance.
