Pedagogy

Harper enjoys sharing her energy and enthusiasm for movement with students of all ages and backgrounds. She is available to teach groups of all sorts- dancers, public school students, dance teachers, public school teachers, corporate groups, and community members, church groups, etc.

At the University level, Harper teaches a range of courses including Modern and Ballet Technique, theory courses such as Dance and World Cultures and Introduction to Dance, Choreography, Improvisation, Dance Technology, and Rhythmic Theory for Dancers.

In addition to an MFA in Dance, she has done extensive graduate course work in education and is a licensed K-12 dance educator.  She also teaches Pilates mat classes to groups and private students. 

Potential workshops for dancers could include any of the areas listed above as well as dance for camera, using text as a performer or choreographer, movement improvisation, and choreography. 

She is also available for workshops such as Building Community Through Movement and Thinking Outside the Cubicle in corporate settings and for community groups.
